Titan’s Halo Podcast 003 – Mixed by Alex Pé

Titan’s Halo Records presenta el tercer episodio de su serie de podcasts galácticos. Este mix llamado Huída de la Tierra ha sido concebido por el dj, coleccionista y amante de la música Alex Pé.

A lo largo de una hora y media, Alex nos conducirá a través de una mezcla de clásicos de la música disco junto a otras interpretaciones del género hechas de hoy en día por artistas de diferentes backgrounds. El concepto de este mix nos remite a su título, un viaje musical que recrea la huída de una tierra colapsada hacia la misteriosa colonia en Titán.

El diseño de Pablo Sanz ha sido inspirado en la estética de las series de ciencia ficción de finales de los años setenta y principios de los ochenta, época a la que pertenecen la mayoría de temas incluídos en el mix. El retrato de la mujer está basado en la preciosa y sádica lagartesa y comedora de ratones Diana de la serie V (Los Visitantes). La portada trasera representa una versión cósmica de Kit, protagonista de la serie El Coche Fantástico. El diseño, tipografía han recibido un tratamiento y han sido enfocados en un estilo que nos remite indudablemente a esa época. Los colores parecen quemados, exagerados y tan anti naturales como entonces, cuando las herramientas de diseño eran más limitadas que hoy en día, y en el estilo de como era vista la ciencia ficción en ese período concreto de tiempo.

Space based conceptual label Titan’s Halo Records announces the release of its third reference, a one track EP called «Alpha Beta Gamma» from the duo Brain Machine. Alpha Beta Gamma is a 17 minute trip separated into three parts, one for each letter. “Alpha” explores a beatless dreamscape, voluptuous and organic pads drift alongside motorik arpeggios and gliding tones in a kind of seventies krautish ambience. “Beta” slowly whirs the cosmic cogs into motion with a heavy arpeggiated bass and some loose percussion, following in the path of Moroder’s eighties cosmic disco. Finally, “Gamma” turns the track into a dark and psychedelic odyssey that reminds us of the soundtracks of Dario Argento and more precisely, the band Goblin. The German band Von Spar have approached the remix making an instrumental and lysergic version of «Alpha Beta Gamma». For the second remix, Swedish producer Johan Agebjörn has sent the original track to a secret beach located on a planet somewhere around Saturn through a balearic ambient-house approach. The complete artwork of the record has been handled by Spanish designer Pablo Sanz, where he intends to represent the flyby of a spaceship over the human colony of Titan. The mastering of all tracks belongs to Xergio Córdoba, engineer of Eternal Midnight Studios.
